Our new Website

Website Home Page
Website Home Page

Creating a new website is a huge undertaking. Especially when we have so much exciting content to share and desired a platform that was simple enough that mere mortals could edit. LCTA came up with a great product and thanks to the Communication Committee chaired by Diane Handler, our webmaster Greg Barnett (who learned “on the job”) and our amazing Graphic Designer Rebecca Ravera we are certain we succeeded. Also, thanks to Britnay at ULU Media who steered us through the many steps from branding, marketing to SEO considerations and on and on.

And of course, we want to thank the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation Organizational Grant and the Great America Financial Services Grant for making this all possible. Please check it out!

Construction is underway for the new pedestrian and bicycle bridge which will become the new route for the Cedar Valley Nature Trail..  Construction for the bridge has been challenging due to higher than normal river levels.  The project is expected to be completed in 2026.

Build Grant – connecting downtown to the NW trails

The City recently was awarded a $25M grant, a portion of which includes providing a connection from the Cherokee Trail and Ellis Trail across the E Ave bridge to connect to the Cedar River Trail along 1st St NE.  The funding also includes paving a trail on the top of the Levee adjacent to the new Casino and a trail bridge over the Union Pacific railroad which will connect the levee trails on both sides of the railroad.
