SNOW and TRAILS...
Whether hiking, biking, snowshoeing or cross-country skiing, snow adds a new layer of fun. You can hike into the evening with the reflection of light off the snow, creating a naturally lighted trail. Check it out and enjoy your Linn County Trails, year round!

Map of the Future Cherokee Trail
Currently the Cherokee Trail winds its way from Morgan Creek Park, through Cherry Hill Park and by several small city parks to Edgewood Road NW. The map above shows the future Cherokee Trail from Edgewood Rd NW to the Cedar River. If all lights remain green, construction on Phase 3 could start in 2026! The design for Phase 4 may vary with flood control and new casino work. The route for Phase 5 is also to be determined but the city is very motivated to get this connection completed!

More on Morgan Creek Trail!
Morgan Creek Trail Phase 1 is complete. A short 2 mile walk or ride. Perfect for that after dinner walk or a quick snowshoe! Limited parking is available at the Rock Island Preserve.
